On 5 September 2024, EU-funded CIRPASS-2 project held the online kick off meeting for its Expert Working Group 2 (Standardisation Liaisons), bringing together more than 80 experts to support the CIRPASS-2 project with their in-kind expertise in its goals of demonstrating a functioning Digital Product Passport for cross-sector and cross-system use in real settings via 13 circular pilot deployments and use cases in textiles, electronics, tyres and construction value chains.
Expert Working Group 2 is one of 5 CIRPASS-2 Expert Working Groups (EWGs) which is part of an even wider CIRPASS-2 Stakeholder Community, gathering experts in relevant fields to interact, with the goal to enable two-way communication between the project and the expert stakeholder community. Expert group partners will be invited to follow and provide feedback on the project developments, disseminate project results and enable a feedback loop among a wider community.
The objective of EWG2 in particular is to monitor and report on developments of the DPP standardisations activities from officially recognised standardisation organisations, as well as relevant standards from fora and other consortia to the CIRPASS-2 consortium with focus on the DPP system framework, to ensure interoperability of data structures, formats and protocols. EWG2 will support the project in the assessment and analysis of utilised standards by matching the identified user stories with the diverse technical and normative requirements to ensure interoperability between use cases/lighthouse projects
What is CIRPASS-2 Stakeholder Community?
CIRPASS-2 is dedicated to piloting and validating standards-based Digital Product Passports in four value chains, but also to creating a wide-scale community of DPP stakeholders to facilitate the deployment of DPPs in different product sectors, across Europe and beyond.
Building upon the preceding CIRPASS project’s extensive stakeholder community of 4500+ organisations, the CIRPASS-2 stakeholder community is organised into different groups according to their different levels of engagement, including a large group of experts (Expert Working Groups and The Community of Practice) to support its own work and spread DPP expertise and knowledge even further.
