Expert Working Groups
Experts in relevant fields will interact with the CIRPASS-2 in Expert Working Groups (EWGs), whose goals are to enable two-way communication between the project and the expert stakeholder community, follow and provide feedback on the project developments, disseminate project results and enable a feedback loop among a wider community.
Expert Working Group 3
Textile Stakeholders Group
This group’s objective is to bring in the textile industry’s insights including their value chains, supply chains, and product characteristics, to help with clarifying benefits and challenges in implementing DPPs in their sector, discovering and validating new business models, understanding the needs of SMEs in their sector and evolutions in consumer sustainable consumption. The group will also contribute to building the sector-specific ontologies.
Important:The information content of the upcoming delegated act for textiles will be shaped by the preparatory work of the JRC and especially the upcoming Ecodesign Forum which is being set up and run by the European Commission. Neither CIRPASS-2 nor EWG3 will therefore have any direct influence of its design. We will of course follow this work extremely closely and, if needed, support the Commission in their translation into machine readable representations. We will publish online digital tools to ease access and reuse of this representation as soon as possible. If and when needed, the collective opinions of EWG3 partners may be sought on specific topics (e.g. using surveys) to inform the Commission
Homepage of the JRC Preparatory Study on Textile Products
In line with the Regulation on Ecodesign for Sustainable Products (ESPR) and the EU Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles, this preparatory study aims to provide a basis on which the Commission can consider the introduction of ecodesign requirements, green public procurement criteria and revised EU Ecolabel criteria for textile products.
